

Funeral services for Mr. Arvil C. Terry, 86, of Gainesboro,
Tennessee, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 4,
2011, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment
with full military honors will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial
Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. – 9
P.M., and on Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
He passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at
Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN.
He was born December 1, 1925, in Jackson County, TN, to
the late Homer Terry and Lera Jackson Terry. On August 7,
1944, he was married to Sylvia Terry, who survives. He was an
auto mechanic, and a member of the Hurricane Church of
Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1
Son: Jeff Arvil Terry; 1 Daughter: Debbie Terry; 1 Brother:
J.B. Terry; and 1 Sister: Frances Ragland.
Survivors include his Wife: Sylvia Terry of Gainesboro, TN;
2 Sons: Jack (Gayle) Terry and Terry (Tracy) Terry, all of
Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters: Margarette (Joseph) Girgenti of
Marble Falls, TX, Arlene (Jim) Maynard of Gainesboro, TN, and
Paula (Ken) Turner of Sellersburg, IN; 7 Grandchildren: Cindy
Hornsby, Gretta Leckbee, Hayley Turner, Chase Turner, Nick
Girgenti, Jeff Girgenti, and Justin Maynard; 1 Sister: Sue
(Charles) Malone of Livingston, TN; 1 Brother-in-Law: Junior
Ragland of Livingston, TN; and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Bro. James Bybee will officiate at the services.
