Funeral services for Mrs. Gwen Carter Lynn, 91, of
Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday,
December 26, 2011, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral
Home. Burial will follow in the Chaffin Cemetery in the Roaring
River community of Jackson County.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 A.M. until
time of services.
She passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at
Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus in Madison, TN.
She was born December 19, 1921, in Jackson County, TN,
to the late William Hobert Carter and Emily Avo McCoin
Carter. On August 8, 1942, she was married to the late Albert
Rogers Lynn, who passed away May 13, 1996. She was a
retired factory worker, and a member of the Gainesboro First
United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded
in death by 1 Son: David Carter Lynn; 1 Grandson: Jason
Rogers Lynn; and 2 Brothers: Grady L. Carter and Joseph B.
Carter.
Survivors include 1 Son: Bob R. Lynn of Gainesboro, TN; 1
Daughter: Betty Lynn Apple of Madison, TN; 5 Grandchildren:
Terry (Glenda) Apple, Christopher Apple, Melanie Lynn Burd,
D’na Lynn, and Marlana Lemmons; 9 Great-Grandchildren:
Reed Apple, Logan Apple, Hunter Gregory, Alex Burd, Ryley
Burd, Evan McClinnis, Nicholas Lemmons, Ethyn Dyer, and
Ayden Dyer; and 2 Sisters: Molene Holt of Donelson, TN, and
O’Geal (Joe) Huffine of Goodlettsville, TN.
Bob Chaffin and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the
services.
