
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Pippin Shoemake, 79, of
Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday,
July 14, 2011, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home
in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery in
the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. – 9
P.M., Wednesday from 11 A.M. – 8 P.M., and on Thursday from
9 A.M. until time of services.
She passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at her daughter’s
home in Michigan.
She was born July 16, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to the late
Luther Pippin and Carrie Pippin. On December 29, 1946,
she was married to the late Milbern Shoemake, who passed
away April 25, 2002. She was a homemaker, and a member of
the Center Grove Church of Christ. She also attended the
Union Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded
in death by 2 Brothers: Willie Lane and James Lane; and 2
Infant Sisters.
Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: David and
Teresa Shoemake of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters and Sons-
in-Law: Merlene and Vincent Coletti and Brenda and Gerard
LaVigne, all of Sterling Heights, MI; and Cathy and Bruce Howell
of Gainesboro, TN; Special Nephew and Niece: Eddie Lane
of Gainesboro, TN, and Donna Lane Etheridge of Red Boiling
Springs, TN; 1 Half-Sister: Marion Birdwell of Bloomington
Springs, TN; 8 Grandchildren; and 18 Great Grandchildren.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. John Mabery will officiate at
the services.
