Funeral services for Mr. Martin Dow Myers, 75, of
Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday,
October 1, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral
Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark
Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County,
TN.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 9
P.M., and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services.
He passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011, at Mabry
Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN.
He was born May 31, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, to the late
Raymond Young Myers and Lyda Jane Sutton Myers. On
December 28, 1959, he was married to the late Arleen
Barbulescu Myers, who passed away in March of 1961. He
was a disabled veteran, who served in the U.S. Army at Ft.
Hood, TX. He was also a Chevrolet plant worker.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in
death by his Grandparents: Martin and Alice Carter Myers,
and Matthew D. and Sarah Jane Pharris Sutton; and 1
Brother: Raymond Young Myers, Jr.
Survivors include 1 Brother: Fred C. Myers of Statesboro,
GA; and 2 Sisters: Helen E. Myers of Conway, PA, and
Jeanette Page Myers Cummins of Tyler, TX.
Rev. Kathie Bowles will officiate at the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
Granville Museum by contacting the funeral home.
