Funeral services for Roger L. Matthews, 45, of
Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday,
September 30, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral
Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark
Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County,
TN.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. –
9 P.M., and on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services.
He passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at his
residence.
He was born May 8, 1966, in Smith County, TN, to the late
Cordell Matthews and Georgia Jewelldene Matthews. On
May 12, 1984, he was married to Mary Ann Matthews, who
survives. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his Wife: Mary Ann Matthews of
Gainesboro, TN; 4 God-children: Nathan Netherton, Tina
Sandlin, Joyce Netherton, and Kellie Montgomery; 1 Brother:
Danny (Helen Sue) Matthews of Red Boiling Springs, TN; 2
Sisters: Donna Faye Matthews of Whitleyville, TN, and Mary
(U.L.) Brown of Whitleyville, TN; and a Special Nephew: Austin
Stafford. Other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also
survive.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
