Funeral services for Mr. Vanis B. Young, 69, of the Center
Grove community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held
at 11 A.M. on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Anderson -
Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Young
Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County,
TN.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 9
P.M., and on Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services.
He passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at
Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 18, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, to
the late William Clay Young and Becky T. Young. He was
married to Lois Katherine Young, who survives. He was a
truck driver. He was a member of the Highwaymen Motorcycle
Club and the Center Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1
Son: Matthew; and 2 Brothers: William and Encil Young.
Survivors include his Wife: Lois Katherine Young of
Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Guy Adam Barley of Rippey, Iowa; 1
Daughter: Sharon Young (Michael) Portelli of Detroit, MI; and 2
Brothers: Robert (Dorothy) Young of Cocoa, FL, and Gerald
(Connie) Young of Gainesboro, TN.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
