Ernest C. Dyer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Ernest C. Dyer, 87, of Baxter, TN, will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11 A.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Union Hill – Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Road in Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. – 9 P.M. He passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1934, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Paskell Wirt Dyer and Flora Alice Pippin Dyer. On August 2, 1958, he was married to Mary Sue Dyer, who survives. He was a backhoe operator at J. Fred Pippin Construction for 45 years, and served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne. He was a member of the Union Hill Church of Christ and the Baxter Civic Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brother: Harold Wirt Dyer. Survivors include his Wife: Mary Sue Dyer of Baxter, TN; 2 Sons: Keith Ernest Dyer of Baxter, TN, and Kirk Alan Dyer of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Kimberly Jeannie Qualls of Sparta, TN; 1 Sister: Irma Louise Dyer (Bill) Flatt of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Karissa (Justin Coats) Dyer, Kenzie (Jake) Wade, Lexi (Andrew) Elmore, Alan Dyer, Ethan Dyer, Tyler (Brooke) Qualls, Madison Qualls; and Great Grandchild: William Clint Elmore. Bro. Clarence Deloach, Bro. Luke Wilken, and Bro. Bill Flatt will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Hill – Flatt Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
