Our History

Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was created by Jimmy and Linda Anderson and Steve and Linda Flatt in 2003.  

Our Valued Staff

  • Garry W. Jones

    Garry W. Jones, Owner, Funeral Director & Embalmer

    A 1981 graduate of Jackson County High School and a 1983 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta. Started his funeral career on Dec. 5, 1981 at Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Purchased Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home on Feb. 18, 2020.

    Donna Lee Jones, Owner, Unlicensed Funeral Assistant

    Donna is a 1986 graduate of Gordonsville High School and is currently doing her apprenticeship for Tennessee funeral directors license. She has 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.

  • Mike Fox

    Mike Fox, Funeral Assistant, Non-Licensed

    Mike Fox began his work as a Funeral Assistant at Anderson Upper Cumberland funeral home in the spring of 2014. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee. He is a 1976 graduate from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville and later graduated from the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition to his work as a Funeral Assistant for Anderson Upper Cumberland he currently serves as the pulpit minister for the Flynn's Creek Church of Christ in Gainesboro, Tennessee. He resides with his wife Vickie in Gainesboro.

    Brandy is a 2014 graduate of Gordonsville High School and a licensed TN life insurance agent and pre-need agent.

    Bill passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2005. He was employed with the funeral home at the time of his death.

    Clayton D. Walker, Friend and Colleague

    Clayton passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. He previously worked at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home where he loved helping families and meeting and talking to people.
